So Proud of Herself!

In just the last few days, Logann has really taken an interest in letters. She's been learning her letters and letter sounds, she just hasn't been interested in writing them yet...until last night! I haven't pressed the matter any either...figuring I would get excited about it when she decided to get excited about it! She grabbed her Dora Doodle-Pro last night and started writing random letter combinations and asking me what they spelled! So we did that for a while, and then she started to ask me how to write certain words. She's been able to write her whole name for quite some time now (preschool last year) but now she has added Peyton, Mommy, Daddy, Jen, Raegan, and Amy to her list! The last word on the Doodle-Pro in the picture above is DadMom! We'll add Cooper to the list soon!

Front Porch is Complete!

We picked 3 of the pumpkins from our garden yesterday and added them to our porch scene. Papa picked corn from his garden and made us the "garland" of corn to hang from our front railing. I added the empty crate (that Brent is sitting on) and hope to fill it with gourds, squash and more pumpkins after we visit the pumpkin patch. That will be a new addition to our scene this year! The girls had a good time taking pictures, as you can clearly see! Silly girls!

I didn't take any pictures of Logann's soccer game on Saturday, but the team did great! They have improved every single game! Logann scored two goals (her first goals of the season!) and she was SO excited! We were walking out to the parking lot after the game and there was this older couple in front of us and she walked up in front of them to cut them off and said to them, "you know what...I scored two goals in my game! I have never scored goals in a game before!" She must have thought they looked like really nice grandparents who needed to know that information!

Ok, so I have to admit, I removed the Mighty Oregon Fight Song from our blog after our disgusting loss to Boise State at the beginning of the football season. Well, three wins later...it is back on baby! So back for your listening pleasure...GO DUCKS!

Ultrasound!

We were lucky enough to have another ultrasound today! Because of Brent's new job and our new insurance, it allowed us to have another one fully covered! It was a lot of fun to see Raegan at 30 weeks. Obviously, she was much bigger, and cooperated better this time around because she didn't have as much space to move and wiggle around! She was asleep for the first half of it, then started kicking around during the second half. The tech got a great view of her little face and she was sucking and even swallowing (we could see her tongue moving)! She looked like she had a bigger top lip...very pouty and full looking! Her nose looked exactly like Logann's and Peyton's...a cute little button nose. And it was confirmed that she is a girl...no danglies between the legs! The tech said that you would DEFINITELY be able to tell if there were danglies, and there was no sign of them! So, baby Raegan Lyn it is! We are even more excited to see her in person now that we got another sneek peek at her today. And the tech did all the regular measurements and said that the due date is November 19th...two whole weeks earlier than the original December 2nd due date. So we'll see what our doctor says at my next appointment in two weeks. Baby Raegan could possibly be here in time to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner at home, and not in the hospital! Oh, the weird looking thing by her eyes and nose in the second picture above is the umbilical cord, floating around. And she was head down, not breech like I thought she was!

Uncle Josh came up this weekend to hang out with the girls! Brent was gone all day Saturday down in Eugene at the Oregon game and Josh decided to come up to help me out! It was nice to have him around because he is so good with the girls! It was nice to have someone to watch the game with too! On Saturday morning, we went to Logann's soccer game. The girls improved from last week, but still have lots to learn! It is so hard to watch the soccer games...you just want to jump out on to the field and show them how to do it! Bless their little hearts though...their whole lives they have been told to share and be nice, and now we are telling them to go take the ball away and if you have to shove them out of the way, it is ok!!! Too funny! So after the game, we went to the store to buy goodies, came home and ordered pizza, watched the football game, scrapped naps because the girls were having too much fun, went to Felida Park, came home, played blocks, ate dinner, colored halloween pictures, took a bath, and did glow and the dark stuff in the girls' room before tucking them in! Now it is Sunday and Brent and Josh are outside building a new gate for our side fence. Cooper has become quite the escape artist these days, and we decided to replace the gate with a more sturdy one so he stays locked in the backyard! Peyton is taking a nap right now, Logann is outside with the boys, and I am laying in bed blogging! Life is great! Oh yeah, Josh brought up my bale of hay for my front porch Fall display, so now I need to get some mums potted and pick the pumpkins from the garden to complete the scene! Just trying to make the place look like I am alive and well! Off to check my blood pressure again (it has been high the last two appointments but I have been tested for pre-eclampsia and luckily it was negative...and I am not anemic or diabetic either, yahoo! Doctor thinks I have blood high pressure occasionally due to pain level from separated pubic bone.)

Zoo on Friday

I know what you are thinking..."Jen is getting HUGE!" Yeah I know...I feel huge too! I will be 30 weeks this Wednesday! Baby Raegan will be here before we know it! Seriously, I CAN'T WAIT to meet her...I am so excited to have a new little baby to hold! These last 8-9 weeks are just going to fly by!

Brent had the day off on Friday, so we took the girls to the zoo. I've decided that my "outing" days are coming to an end. The separated pubic symphysis (aka broken crotch bone) is not leaving me with many options except to stay close to couches and beds. I was in quite a bit of pain when we got home. I was "down for the count" as Brent put it nicely. We had a nice time at the zoo though...we finally got to see the new lions. Logann was a little disappointed because they weren't the "big kinds of lions with the furry faces!" They weren't shy though, they strutted around and showed everyone how beautiful they were! They were very beautiful creatures!

Logann's First Week of Preschool & First "Real" Soccer Practice!

Logann had her first "real" soccer practice yesterday! By "real" I mean that it rained! The girls had an absolute blast playing in the rain! I remember being little and playing soccer in the rain, and I hated it! Probably the reason why I chose to play indoor sports! The temperature was actually warm though, so that is probably why the kids had such a great time! We're looking forward to the next game this Saturday! Hopefully Logann worked the jitters out this week at practices...and is more comfortable during the game! Stay tuned...

Logann started Preschool this week! This is her second year going to Miss Connie's Preschool next door. Miss Connie does a wonderful job teaching the children. This year, it is three days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. This year the kids are lucky to have two teachers. Miss Carol is joining the group to help Miss Connie with literacy. She is a retired literacy teacher who taught in the Vancouver School District! BONUS! You wouldn't believe the field trip schedule! They are going on at least one field trip per month, sometimes two! It will be a busy year, but we are thankful to be able to send Logann to Miss Connie again this year!

Slumber Party!

Aunt Amy and Cousin Sydney came up for a slumber party this weekend! Unfortunately this is the only picture we took! The girls kept us pretty busy and we forgot all about taking pictures! It was a fun weekend though!

Logann's First Soccer Game

Logann and the Timberette's had their first soccer game this Saturday. Logann had a case of shell shock...she wasn't quite sure what to do! She was confused...very, very confused! She didn't know who the "other girls" were, why they were wearing different shirts, and why they were on "their" field. Finally by the second half, she started running and chasing after the ball with the rest of the girls, but still didn't quite get it. She had LOTS of questions for us after the game. Luckily we have two more practices this week, before this Saturday's game, so we'll see if things start to click! She said she had fun though...and that is what counts, right?!

Brent's birthday date...Keith Urban!

This last Friday Brent and I went on a date to the Keith Urban concert at the Rose Garden! It was Brent's birthday so we had to find something fun to do...and Keith was the ticket! It was the 6th time we've seen him in concert, and once again we were not one bit disappointed! He ALWAYS puts on an amazing show! Very entertaining...and if you don't already know, he is coming to the Oregon Jamboree down in Sweet Home next summer, so if you are curious to see him in concert and haven't already...now is your chance! We're definitely going, and considering taking Logann...since she knows all the words to all his songs! The girl is in love with him, just like mommy!

Colin and the Girls!

We had the Dukes' side of the family (minus Amy's family) over for brunch on Monday. Uncle David wasn't feeling well so they couldn't make it. Watching Colin and the girls play together was great! They really got along well...and we need to get together way more often so they can play and run around together! They all especially enjoyed the trampoline, bikes, basketball hoops, and feeding the fish in the pond. Luckily the weather was dry enough to let them run around outside! Time to Can Fruit and Veggies!

Grandma and Papa came up yesterday to can pears and tomatoes! Pears were dropping at the farm, and tomatoes were turning in my garden faster than we could use them, so we planned a canning day! Papa helped peal, Brent hopped in to help cut, and Grandma and I did the canning parts! We did 21 quarts of pears and 11 pints of tomatoes...doesn't sound like much for all the work we put in, but it was well worth it! The girls LOVE canned pears, and those should last a while! Plus, when Papa picks pears, he PICKS pears...we had 4 full crates leftover in the garage that we didn't get to do because they were too green. I saved one big crate to can pear-sauce for baby Raegan's baby food, and I will make some into ice-cube tray baby food as well! I am TOTALLY in the nesting phase of pregnacy by the way...I've already made all of the carrots from my garden into baby food, and a lot of the zucchini has been cubed up for baby Raegan! Thank goodness for the vacuum sealer...the cubes will stay good and fresh until she begins eating solids! So, as soon as all those pears ripen, I will be on to pear baby food. I am steaming some yellow zucchini (from Nicola's dad...thanks Patten!) right at this moment, and the timer just dinged, which means I need to go put it in the blender then pour into the trays! Call me crazy!
