Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there. We went to zoo with Brent's side of the family on Saturday. We spent Mother's Day at home. It was a nice relaxing day. Brent got up and made us all breakfast. After eating, the girls and I sat in the hot tub and played around while Brent cleaned up. I know...what a good guy! He even went out and did the grocery shopping later in the day! The best part of the day was spending time together with the girls!

Logann's Swim Lessons

Such a big girl! These are the first set of lessons where she is in the water without a parent! Her first class was actually last Thursday. Knowing that I had to let her go all by herself had me pretty nervous all day. I kept thinking, "Will she go in by herself? Will she cry if the teacher makes her go under water? What if she pees in the pool and blurts it out to everyone?!" I know...I was worried for nothing. She did absolutely great and asks everyday if it is "swim lesson day with teacher Mary!" (and no, she didn't pee in the pool, as far as we know, because she peed when she got home!) Tonight on the way home, I asked her what her favorite part was and she said, "jumping off the edge!" (she gets that from me!) She did too...and she went all the way under while holding her breath! It is fun to watch her interact with another adult who is teaching her and giving her instructions. She is a very attentive listener, as you can see from the pictures. When she isn't being worked with one-on-one, she stands back quietly and observes everyone else. (I think she gets that from her daddy!)

Is it May Already?!

This last weekend we stayed home and enjoyed the nice weather! We planted the garden, worked on the pond and worked on other little projects around the house. The weather was so nice on Sunday that I decided to fill up the little pool and let the girls splash around. I dumped warm water from the hot tub in first so it wasn't too cold.

Peyton has learned how to stand up on her own, holding on to a toy in each hand. Logann used to do the same thing...we called her our "double fister!" The girls absolutely enjoy being outside. We spent most of the day outside on Monday as well because the weather was even nicer. I will have to stock up on sunscreen for the summer!

We hope you all enjoy the upcoming Mother's Day weekend...let's keep our fingers crossed for nice weather again!

Peyton is Walking!

Peyton is walking! Last night, she walked down part of the hallway after we all got out of the hot tub. We practiced a little bit during the day today, and tonight, she was walking really well all evening! She still has trouble standing up on her own, but she'll get there! It was crazy how it happened so fast...this weekend she was barely showing any signs of walking!

Along with the video are some pictures of our weekend. We went home to Lebanon to go to the U of O Spring Game with Amy and David. After the game, we went back to my parent's house to have dinner and celebrate Amy's birthday with cake and ice cream. We also went down to the park to let Logann, Toby and Cooper run around. It was a nice, relaxing weekend!

we had taken a few weeks ago. Enjoy!
We like this first one where she is showing

Happy Birthday Peyton!

Happy Birthday Peyton! We totally lucked out with fantastic weather this weekend for Peyton's birthday parties. On Saturday, Family and Friends came over for a barbeque to celebrate the big event. Then on Sunday, my teacher friends and their kidddos came over and had brunch and played in the backyard. It is amazing that she is already one...the year flew by! In case you were wondering, we took her to her one year appointment and she weighed in at 23 lbs 15 oz and measured to be 31 inches long! To compare the girls, Logann was 1 lb 4 oz heavier and 1 and 3/4 inches longer at her 1 year appointment!
