Logann's New Hair, Valentine's & Peyton's Injury

Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day!
Brent put together a basket of chocolate for his three best girls! He did such a good job with the presentation that I had to take a picture of it and embarrass him by posting it on our blog! What a guy! He even got us all cards :)
Logann got a new "do" yesterday as well! It all started by me giving her a little trim, and it didn't turn out so well, so I set an appointment with cousin Mary at the "beauty shop!" Logann did such a great job sitting well and holding her head in certain positions! Mary saved the day and did an excellent job on the hair cut. As you can see, she even cut some layers!
And, for the last event of the day...right as we were sitting down to watch the U of O basketball game, we heard a loud scream from down the hallway. Logann had closed the door to her bedroom and Peyton's fingers were right in the way. The pinky and ring finger of her right hand looked pretty bad, so we called advice and they are having us come in today to have a doctor take a look at them. Poor little gal...first she's cutting her top teeth, she has a nasty head cold, and now she has smashed fingers.
Wish us luck...we'll let you know what the Doc says.
Take Care!

Doctor Visits!

Last week we took the girls to their check-ups. Logann went in for her 3 year appointment and Peyton went in for her 9 month appointment (even though she was already 9 1/2 months). Logann was 39 pounds and 41 inches tall. Peyton was 21 pounds 6.4 ounces and 29 inches tall. Both girls were in the 75 percent range for weight and 95 percent range for height...big surprise! Other than that, everything checked out fine, both are healthy little ladies! Peyton is actually about 2 pounds less than Logann was at this age. Logann was a pudgy little lady! Peyton has 5 teeth now, almost 6...just waiting for that other top tooth to pop through. She is crawling all over the place and getting in to Logann's "space." Logann is such an independent, project oriented kid, that she does NOT like Peyton in her way! Hopefully that will change. Peyton can say "bubba, momma, and dadda." She also signs for eat. She waves goodbye and hello to us too! Logann's new words/phrases are..."random momma" and "for the love momma!" She is such a character! Oh yeah, she is also sleeping on the top bunk of her bunk beds too! Such a big girl! Well, I think that is about all from here...hope you are all doing well!

Snow Day!

I know, I know, you guys from Bend, LaGrande and Spokane are just laughing at me right now, but snow around here is a big deal! The girls had a great time playing in our little bit of snow this morning! I was able to snap a few great pictures and shoot some video before their little hands and feet got too cold! Thanks to Aunt Tara and Uncle Brian for their new warm outerwear...we were able to stay outside for a whole 20 minutes! When Logann woke up and came out of her room this morning, she looked outside and asked, "is it Christmas mama?!" How cute!

Happy 3rd Birthday Logann!

Logann had a wonderful birthday party! All her friends came over for snacks and sugar cookies then we went to JJ Jump here in Vancouver. The theme was Dora the Explorer. As you can see in the pictures, her buddies had a great time. On her real birthday (Monday the 7th) I made her chocolate cake with 7 minute frosting and homemade ice cream. She had a yummy time licking the frosting off the cake. She has had lots of fun times playing with all her new toys, especially her new Thomas the Train set. As you can see in the last picture, that is Brent's favorite new toy too! I think that picture proves that Brent would be just fine if we never happened to have a son! He loves his girls, and will love them even more when they start to play basketball with him out on the basketball court after work!

Other news around here...the girls were sick earlier this week. It was so sad to see them barf...so helpless. They got over it rather quickly so that was a relief for us. We are finally back in the swing of things and recovered from the holidays and Logann's birthday. We won't be signing up for playpark this trimester because it is right during the time of Peyton's morning nap. Her sleep is more important. So instead, we will be having friends over or visiting friends for small-scale playdates. Those are always fun too.

I had a fun birthday...my friend Erin took me out last Saturday for a girl's day of fun. We started by stopping at Starbucks for coffee. Then we got pedicures ( I don't think I have sat down for that long in a REALLY long time!) After that, we went to Washington Square for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Then we went and did some shopping. It was such a fun day to spend with a special friend. It was nice to be without the kids...no pulling at my jeans or cutting up their food at lunch! I did miss them though...they were really happy to see me when we got home. Brent stayed home with the girls, which was good for him to spend some QT with his daughters. Well, that is about all from here...hope you are all doing well!

Happy New Year!

We spent New Year's weekend in Lebanon. We had a small birthday gathering for Logann on Sunday at Grandma and Grandpa Gabel's house. We spent New Year's Eve watching the U of O Sun Bowl Victory (Go Ducks!) and playing games with George, Connie and Josh. We headed back home on New Year's Day to unpack, do laundry, clean house, and un-decorate Christmas! The girls have finally adjusted back to their normal routine this week...thank goodness because traveling really puts a kink in their schedules! Logann is enjoying playing with all her new toys from Christmas and birthday. As you can see...she thinks Peyton is a toy too...along for the ride shopping with the new shopping cart!

Christmas 2007

Hope you all had a great Chistmas! We spent Christmas Eve at Amy and David's with Brent's side of the family. We drove back home that evening so Santa could visit our house. Then we spent Christmas Day at George and Connie's with my side of the family. The girls had a wonderful time opening gifts. Peyton ate lots of paper and played with the boxes, and Logann enjoyed tearing open her presents and most of Peyton's presents! As you can see in the pictures, we got to spend Christmas with Josh and Jonah as well. Logann and Jonah had a good time playing together. Logann even helped him open his presents...such a good helper!

Santa's Visit

Santa visited our house last Thursday night. We were enjoying a wonderful evening with a lot of our closest friends. The kids were all running around playing and eating cookies and candy, when all of a sudden, they heard the jingle of Santa's bells. They ran to the front window to see what was the clatter...and they heard a loud and jolly "ho, ho, ho!" They all shouted with excitement, "It's Santa Claus!"
The kids all got to sit on his lap and tell him what they wanted for Christmas. Peyton did really well...she was interested in his beard most of all! Logann on the other hand was very cautious. She was the last kid to visit Santa. She wouldn't do it alone either...she needed mamma to be right by her side!
Santa has visited our house twice now, once on Logann's first Christmas, then this year. Hopefully we can continue the tradition!
We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas Eve!
