Video of Logann Swimming Solo!

The girls and I have been doing swimming lessons at Hough Pool this week. Logann has been progressing much faster through this program. At the last facility, she struggled with swimming on her back, and even though that was a requirement to pass the level, they rarely practiced the skill. Weird! So, we switched to Hough and she absolutely loves her teacher and there are only two other kids in the class! The video is from open swim today after the lesson. Another reason why we changed to Hough...lessons are also during open swim so Peyton and I can get in at the other end of the pool, and we on skills together. So, we go a little bit early before Logann's lesson and swim together during open swim, and then Logann goes off to her lesson at the other end, and Peyton and I play for a half hour! Today I took my cousin Natalie and she got in with the girls! It was a nice break for me and I got to take some pictures and video. Peyton is too young to join a class, and we have already done a parent/tot class to get her comfortable in the water, so now we just get to play together until she turns 3. Peyton is jumping off the edge and kicks like crazy to swim towards me...so I'd say she is comfortable in the water! Anyways, enjoy the pictures and video!

Potty Training, 35th Anniversary and 4th of July!

Jeremy caught a salamander that was crawling out of the firewood
(a piece that was in the firepit!) They decided to cool it off by putting it by the sprinkler...poor thing!

Napping in panties!

Caught in the act!

On this last Thursday, Peyton decided that she was all done wearing diapers and was ready to wear panties and use the toilet like a big girl! She caught on like a champ...talk about a fast learner! No incentive charts, potty prizes, nothing...just an occasional piece of gum has been the reward! We were even brave enough to let her wear panties today on our drive back from Lebanon! This is all so exciting and shocking to Brent and I because of how Logann DID NOT WANT TO USE THE POTTY at all at this age. Luckily she has decided to do this all on her own...and in time before the baby joins our family! Goes to show how ALL kids are different! Along with helping Peyton pull up her panties, we had an eventful weekend! Josh, Jeremy and I decided to throw a surprise 35th wedding anniversary party for mom and dad at the farm on Saturday night. Close family and friends joined us for a bbq and cake and ice cream, then we topped off the evening with fireworks to celebrate the 4th of July! Well, everyone else enjoyed the fireworks while Logann and I sat in the truck watching the fireworks with the radio on! Right along with Cooper, Logann does NOT like the loud sounds of fireworks! Another reason why we decided to go to Lebanon for the weekend and get out of firework-happy Vancouver! We hope you all had a great 4th of July weekend!
P.S. check out the YouTube link to the right of this post (below the timeline tickers) of Jeremy and his river rapid adventure...crazy kid! Dad was with him on this fishing trip, and he about had a heart attack watching it from the river bank! I died laughing while watching the video!

CRAZY!!!

It is almost 11:30pm and I couldn't get to sleep, so I decided to mess around with my new computer. I thought it would be fun to play around with our blog and make some changes and add some things that I have been wanting to add. I learned how to create the timelines off to the right...and discovered (after creating and posting Peyton's timeline) that she is 2 years, 2 months, 2 weeks and 2 days old TODAY! I just thought that was so crazy, that I had to post it! Happy Terrific Two's Peyton! Ok...now this is weird...she just started crying and she NEVER wakes up at night...gotta go tell her "happy 2 day" before midnight :)

Grandma Gabel came up to spend the weekend with us on Father's Day Weekend. Papa was on a fishing trip with Jeremy, so only Grandma made it up. On Sunday, we all went down to Esther Short Park here in Vancouver, and we ran into the Hoffarth's and the Kempf's! It was a great surprise to see them all at the park, and the kids all got to play together! We hope all you fathers out there had a great Father's Day!

"Momma, it's the ice cream truck!"

The joys of summer! Almost every evening the ice cream truck rolls around to our neighborhood. Occasionally we'll let the girls go pick something out. It is so exciting for them. They really look forward to it, especially if they have been good during the day!

Dinner at the Millhollens

A few weekends ago, Aunt Aldy was in town to go to Hannah's High School Graduation. We were invited over to Bob and Mary's for a fun evening of yard games and a super yummy seafood bbq dinner. As usual, the food was delicious and the time spent with the Millhollen's and Aunt Aldy was wonderful!
