The Kempf's Down on the Farm!

Hello everyone! We had an exciting 4th of July weekend! Our friends Erik and Nicola, and their kids Brady, Mason, and Delaney drove all the way from Vancouver to spend the day with us at the farm! The kids had such a great time! They saw the pigs and sheep, rode the quad out to feed Curious George (a grouse out in the woods) and played in the dirt! Nicola said that the boys have never been so dirty!

Hoopfest Weekend!

We had a wonderful time in Spokane this last weekend. Unfortunately, I didn't get that many pictures...we were too busy having fun by Jon and Karen's pool! Brent played in the 3 on 3 basketball tournament (Hoopfest) on Matt's team. They didn't do so well, so they had Sunday off. They lost, won, then lost and were out. That was fine by me because it was very hot downtown Spokane. My friend JoEne played on her dad's team again, and they won their bracket! I heard the news on TV one evening and they said that it was 118 down on the blacktop where the teams were playing. Laying beside the pool was a much better option! I didn't take the girls down to watch, it was just too hot. Jon and Karen hosted an awesome bbq on Sunday evening after the tournament to celebrate. We had great times with the Liezens, the Heimbigners, and lots of friends that we have in the Spokane area. Sorry I don't have more pictures...maybe JoEne got a few more than I did and will share them with me :) Have a wonderful 4th of July weekend...I will post next week with this coming weekend's events!

Father's Day Weekend

Happy Father's Day to all you wonderful dads out there! We went home to Lebanon for the weekend. Amy's baby shower was on Saturday and it was a big hit! We spent Friday and Saturday evenings out at the farm bbqing and riding Jeremy's new quad...the girls LOVED it! We even packed Logann's little 4-wheeler home with us hoping she would love to drive that around the farm, but NO WAY...she wanted to ride the real deal! Her quad sat in the same spot all weekend...and Jeremy's quad racked up a few miles! We hope you all had a wonderful Father's Day weekend!

Just an Update

Greetings everyone. Here are some pictures from the end of May. I can't believe that it is already June...let alone the 10th of June...where does the time go? The girls really enjoy being outside, as you can see! We set up the pool on the warm days to switch it up. They love the trampoline, and Peyton loves to play with the basketballs. I think she will be our little athlete, and Logann is going to be our little drama, artsy, dancer, singer person! Peyton HATES when we have to come in from outside.
Her "high frequency" words lately are ball, shoe, side-for outside, eat, fish, this, and go ducks. She points to stuff she wants and says "this!" We've taught her to put her arms up in the air when we say touchdown, and a couple of times she has put her arms in the air and said "go ducks!" What a smart one she is! We're obviously getting her ready for football season. She is working on signs for sign language and the one she uses the most is "all done!"
The girls got sick a few weekends ago and ran high fevers. Peyton got better but Logann ended up with an ear infection in both ears. She loves her bubble gum flavored antibiotic medicine she has to take. She'll be sad when it is all gone!
Other than that, we've just been hanging out up here in Vancouver. With the price of gas, I can't justify going out and about everyday. We are heading to Lebanon this weekend for Aunt Amy's baby shower and the end of the month we are headed to Spokane for Hoopfest. Hopefully gas isn't $5 a gallon by then. Wish we had a smaller car! Take care, and thanks for reading!

Check this out!

For those of you who might not have believed us when we told you that Peyton can say "Go Ducks"...here ya go! Enjoy!

She's a lot like her dad...

she doesn't say much, but what she says is important!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there. We went to zoo with Brent's side of the family on Saturday. We spent Mother's Day at home. It was a nice relaxing day. Brent got up and made us all breakfast. After eating, the girls and I sat in the hot tub and played around while Brent cleaned up. I know...what a good guy! He even went out and did the grocery shopping later in the day! The best part of the day was spending time together with the girls!

Logann's Swim Lessons

Such a big girl! These are the first set of lessons where she is in the water without a parent! Her first class was actually last Thursday. Knowing that I had to let her go all by herself had me pretty nervous all day. I kept thinking, "Will she go in by herself? Will she cry if the teacher makes her go under water? What if she pees in the pool and blurts it out to everyone?!" I know...I was worried for nothing. She did absolutely great and asks everyday if it is "swim lesson day with teacher Mary!" (and no, she didn't pee in the pool, as far as we know, because she peed when she got home!) Tonight on the way home, I asked her what her favorite part was and she said, "jumping off the edge!" (she gets that from me!) She did too...and she went all the way under while holding her breath! It is fun to watch her interact with another adult who is teaching her and giving her instructions. She is a very attentive listener, as you can see from the pictures. When she isn't being worked with one-on-one, she stands back quietly and observes everyone else. (I think she gets that from her daddy!)
