Peyton's One Year Pictures

Here are some of Peyton's one year pictures
we had taken a few weeks ago. Enjoy!
We like this first one where she is showing
everyone how old she is! What a smart one year old!

Happy Birthday Peyton!

Happy Birthday Peyton! We totally lucked out with fantastic weather this weekend for Peyton's birthday parties. On Saturday, Family and Friends came over for a barbeque to celebrate the big event. Then on Sunday, my teacher friends and their kidddos came over and had brunch and played in the backyard. It is amazing that she is already one...the year flew by! In case you were wondering, we took her to her one year appointment and she weighed in at 23 lbs 15 oz and measured to be 31 inches long! To compare the girls, Logann was 1 lb 4 oz heavier and 1 and 3/4 inches longer at her 1 year appointment!

Our Weekend with the Liezen Family!

Our BFFs from "SpokVegas" came for a visit this week! They arrived on Wednesday and stayed through Saturday. We had beautiful weather on Wednesday and Thursday so the kids were able to play outside. On Thursday, we went to the zoo for Andrew's 4th birthday! It was his first time at the zoo. Our friend/neighbor, Erin, and her boyfriend Rob came over that evening to watch the kids so the 4 of us could go out to dinner together. That was a lot of fun to sit and visit without kiddos around! On Friday, we made separate shopping trips...Matt and Brent went to Nike outlet in the morning, then Jo and I went to Ikea in the afternoon. That was also nice to get out and go shopping without the kiddos! The next Dukes/Liezen gathering we have planned is our trip to Spokane the last weekend of June. Brent and Matt are playing in Hoopfest together this year! We enjoyed our time together this week and are looking forward to June! If only we lived closer...

Easter Weekend

We went to Lebanon for Easter Weekend. We spent Easter with Brent's side of the family. The weather wasn't nice enough to do an egg hunt in the yard, so we had one in the barn! The kids had a great time. Logann stayed the night with Grandma and Papa Dukes on Sunday night. They took her to Salem to ride the carousel and they also found a park to play at.
Brent spent Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with his brother Brian up in Tualatin. They worked on "gutting" their backyard and getting it ready to landscape. Since Brent stayed overnight at their house for the first part of the week, the girls and I stayed in Lebanon.
We went to the farm on Tuesday...the weather was really nice as you can see! We got to visit with the great-grandparents that evening. We spent Wednesday in Corvallis with Great-Grandma Fisher, Great-Aunt Dina and Uncle Tony. Overall, the best part was to spend more time with Josh before he left for California!

What's New?

It has been two weeks or so since I have created a new post, so I thought I better get to it. First of all...Peyton's fingers are fine. The x-ray showed a "deep tissue bruise" and there was no fracture. The finger nail is darkened now but hopefully it won't fall off.
We made a trip to OMSI this last weekend. We went with our good friends, the Hoffarth's. Logann and Hallie held hands everywhere we went! They loved the dinosaur exhibit! The moving dino was pretty scary, but they did ok! Peyton and Harrison had a good time "digging" for dinosaur bones in the one boxed in area. Logann and Hallie also went to the Coral Reef movie in the big theater. It was a fun outing!
Peyton is almost 11 months old already! She is getting close to walking...she takes a few steps between Brent and I but then falls to the floor to crawl instead! She stands on her own for a few seconds too, but then plops down! She has 6 teeth still and no signs of new ones coming through. She is NOT interested in "baby food" anymore...only interested in what big sister Logann is eating. Today she had chicken nuggets for lunch!
Logann is growing up so fast. We were at library story time yesterday and I was observing her from the back of the room. She is so attentive and interested in the stories the man reads. She participates right along with the other kids, but I still see signs of the "cautious" child where she waits a moment and checks things out before she jumps in! She filled up her "poop" chart yesterday with the remaining two stickers! We went to Costco so she could pick out her new movie that she worked so hard for! She picked out 101 Dalmations. She watched it this morning and loved it! The whole point of that was...she is a BIG girl now, pooping and peeing on the potty! We are so proud of her. She was a bit stubborn through the whole process, but it is over with, thank goodness!
Other big news for me is that Brent and I have started working out together. I know, big shocker!!! Most of you know that excercising is something pretty low on my list of priorities! Brent always works out on the BowFlex, but I have finally decided to get it together and join him. It is great to spend that time together. We get to talk about a lot of things that we usually don't have the time for. The girls are in bed by 8:30, so that is our new workout time together. My hamstrings are really sore!
Other than that, not much is new around here. We are looking forward to nice weather and hope that it sticks around. Take care and thanks for reading!

Logann's New Hair, Valentine's & Peyton's Injury

Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day!
Brent put together a basket of chocolate for his three best girls! He did such a good job with the presentation that I had to take a picture of it and embarrass him by posting it on our blog! What a guy! He even got us all cards :)
Logann got a new "do" yesterday as well! It all started by me giving her a little trim, and it didn't turn out so well, so I set an appointment with cousin Mary at the "beauty shop!" Logann did such a great job sitting well and holding her head in certain positions! Mary saved the day and did an excellent job on the hair cut. As you can see, she even cut some layers!
And, for the last event of the day...right as we were sitting down to watch the U of O basketball game, we heard a loud scream from down the hallway. Logann had closed the door to her bedroom and Peyton's fingers were right in the way. The pinky and ring finger of her right hand looked pretty bad, so we called advice and they are having us come in today to have a doctor take a look at them. Poor little gal...first she's cutting her top teeth, she has a nasty head cold, and now she has smashed fingers.
Wish us luck...we'll let you know what the Doc says.
Take Care!

Doctor Visits!

Last week we took the girls to their check-ups. Logann went in for her 3 year appointment and Peyton went in for her 9 month appointment (even though she was already 9 1/2 months). Logann was 39 pounds and 41 inches tall. Peyton was 21 pounds 6.4 ounces and 29 inches tall. Both girls were in the 75 percent range for weight and 95 percent range for height...big surprise! Other than that, everything checked out fine, both are healthy little ladies! Peyton is actually about 2 pounds less than Logann was at this age. Logann was a pudgy little lady! Peyton has 5 teeth now, almost 6...just waiting for that other top tooth to pop through. She is crawling all over the place and getting in to Logann's "space." Logann is such an independent, project oriented kid, that she does NOT like Peyton in her way! Hopefully that will change. Peyton can say "bubba, momma, and dadda." She also signs for eat. She waves goodbye and hello to us too! Logann's new words/phrases are..."random momma" and "for the love momma!" She is such a character! Oh yeah, she is also sleeping on the top bunk of her bunk beds too! Such a big girl! Well, I think that is about all from here...hope you are all doing well!
