One of our traditions at Christmas is to count down the days by giving the girls a bag each day. Items in the bags include the parts to their toy nativity scene, books, toys, goodies, coupons for movie night, coupons for driving around looking at lights, ornaments for their little tree or the big tree, etc...They LOVE this tradition!
The 6th bag of Christmas was a little unusual! There was a sticky-note inside that said to look on the washer in the laundry room. Logann read the note and looked in the laundry room...
There was a book sitting there titled, "Elf on the Shelf." So we took it in the bonus room and started reading it. It was about Santa's scout elves! They are these little elves who help Santa by visiting houses during Christmas. They report back to Santa each night by flying to the north pole. Every time they return, they land in a different spot! They keep an eye on the kids all throughout the day and tell Santa whether or not they have been naughty or nice! The kids are allowed to talk to the Elf, but he doesn't talk back, and they ARE NOT allowed to touch him. If he is touched, his magic goes away! The girls GOT SO EXCITED about having an Elf visit our house this year! They have named our Elf, Elfie, and hope he returns next year!
This is one of the spots he has landed! He has been all over the house in the highest places possible! Silly Elfie!
