Swimming Lessons & Organizing

The first three pictures show Peyton participating in swimming lessons...that was the first and last day of participation for her! She was grouped with a male teacher, and that was the end of that. Thinking back since she was a baby, she's never been a real fan of men, especially strange men. She was afraid of the guy and didn't want a thing to do with swimming. This was a beginner's class, which had the purpose of helping children become familiar with water and comfortable with it. If you remember earlier pictures of her in our backyard pool...this isn't an issue with her! Comfortable and familiar with water, so we will just skip lessons this summer and try for next summer! On the other hand, our little mermaid, Logann, is LOVING her lessons as usual, and can do the front crawl, back stroke, breast stroke, etc without help! She is working on side breathing so she can make it all the way across the pool! The "organizing" pictures are from last week when I was organizing and putting away some baby clothes that were passed back to us from cousin Sydney. The girls thought it would be fun to try the stuff on again!

Sand in the City

We took the girls to Sand in the City in Portland. It is a charity event fund raiser and admission is donation based to raise money for children. They haul in loads of sand and have people sculpt some pretty neat things for display. The girls really had a good time looking at all the creations!

Swimming Pool Fun!

Best money we ever spent! The pool is so fun to have...Logann can totally swim now, and Peyton doesn't need water wings to stay above the water because she's so tall! The girls just play in the pool while Rae and I sit in the shade and watch them! This is what we do almost every afternoon!

Grandma & Grandpa's 60th Anniversary Beach Trip!

Grandma and Grandpa Dukes (Harold & Gerry) celebrated their 60th Anniversary this last November. Instead of a big party or gathering, they decided that they would LOVE to spend time over in Lincoln City with the whole family! We rented a huge beach house and spent Thursday-Monday over there. Needless to say, everyone had a great time! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for the special memories and congratulations to 60 years and hopes for many more to come! You are both so special to all of us and set such a wonderful example of how to live life happily! We LOVE you!
