Green Eggs and Ham

Logann's class has been celebrating Dr. Seuss month at Preschool. They have read a ton of books written by Dr. Seuss, studying rhyming and other skills he focuses on in his stories. They made the cat hats, wore pajamas to school, climbed a ladder (A Great Day For Up) and today they finished off the month by having a Green Eggs and Ham party! They all enjoyed both the ham and the eggs, even though they were green!

Swimming Lessons

Last Tuesday (March 17th) Logann had swimming lessons. We took Peyton to see how she would do just watching her sister. Well, let's just say that Peyton wanted to get in the swimming pool so bad that she took her clothes off at least 3 times out in the waiting room and cried, "swimming pool!" To distract her, I walked her out to the lobby and asked if there were any openings for a parent/tot class on the same nights as Logann's lessons. They did have an opening, thank goodness, so we signed her up, and her first lesson was on that Thursday! She ABSOLUTELY LOVES the water! We weren't planning on signing Peyton up until this summer, but since she was SO interested, we thought what the heck! Logann is doing excellent in her 4 year old class...and as you can see from the pictures, she definitely has a swimmer's build...broad shoulders thanks to mommy and wide flipper feet thanks to her daddy! Logann really looks forward to swimming lessons...almost as much as Peyton! Peyton asks every morning if it is swimming lesson day!

Tyler's Birthday

Last weekend, the girls and I went to our friend Tyler's birthday party. It was at a gymnastics club here in town. As you can see, Logann had a great time in the bungee trampoline thingy...but Peyton was actually the first one to try it out! Once Logann saw her little sister doing it, she finally wanted to try it! She was very hesitant about doing it until she saw Peyt do it! Go Peyton! I didn't have my camera when Peyton got up in it, but she was so darn cute...giggling most of the time!

More pictures...

The weather has been very inconsistent these days, but when the rain clouds blow over, the girls head outside to play! Their favorite things to do: play with bubbles, dig in the garden, ride the 4 wheeler and other various bikes, pick things off of the dwarf cedar tree by the pond, and kick the soccer ball! This coming weekend, the Liezen's are paying us a visit! The girls are super excited!

Long Time No Blog

These pictures are from a few weeks ago...March 7th and 8th. We went down to Lebanon to house-sit and do chores for Brent's parents. The girls absolutely loved helping dad outside, especially the tractor ride!

Sunday at the Sheldon's

It looks like I beat you to it Amy, unless you are working on your blog right this minute too! Amy and I had a little competition going on this afternoon....who would blog the days' pictures first!
A few days ago, Brent and I were reading the Sheldon Family blog, and he realized that he hasn't seen Sydney since New Year's weekend. We decided that was just way too long. So, today we spent the day with the Sheldon's!
The girls played great together! I think Logann and Peyton were more interested in Sydney today since she's able to scoot around now! They realized that she can kind of play and interact with them...and they really liked that!
Thanks for a really fun afternoon guys!

Weekend at the Farm!

This Saturday morning we woke up and decided to go spend the day at the farm. We had heard that the weather was going to be sketchy...but it turned out BEAUTIFUL! We packed up and were on the road by about 10:30...and we decided at 9:30 that we were going! The girls had an absolute blast! The whole way there, about every 5 or 10 minutes, Peyton said, "Grandma Gabel's house, Grandma Gabel's house!" Way too cute! Then she'd say, "Papa's pigs, Papa's pigs!" Boy were they excited! Papa had to get a load of hog grower (pig food) that morning, so we got there just in time for Brent and Jeremy to unload it for him! We could tell that we were "cramping Dad's style" by being there...he has his way of doing things, and when a bunch of people show up to help, he doesn't know where to start! Don't get me wrong...Dad LOVED having us there...jobs got done and he got to play with his little girls at the same time. I think that we just distracted him a bit from his daily routine of feeding the pigs and making his rounds. My favorite part of course was riding Jeremy's 4 wheeler on the new roads that dad has been working on! Logann said that her favorite part was the 4 wheeler and the "shots." Jeremy was shooting one of his guns and she actually didn't like the sound at all...even with ear plugs in. Funny that she said that it was one of her favorite parts. Peyton said her favorite part was the pigs and being with Papa and Grams. Grandma had a bowling tournament for most of the morning but made it out to the farm for that afternoon. She brought the girls candy, so that was a treat! It was a short stay though...we spent all day Saturday at the farm, headed in to the house for dinner, stayed the night and then took off fairly early on Sunday after breakfast. It is fun to do those unplanned adventures from time to time!
