College Football Begins! Go Ducks!

Logann and Peyton are all "ducked" out and ready for the game! By now, I am guessing that Uncle David and Daddy have been up since 7am watching ESPN gameday and are getting ready to eat, pack and get down to Autzen Stadium to spend a LONG afternoon tailgaiting with George and Connie! I am here at home with the girls and Uncle Jeremy is coming over this evening to watch the big game with us. Just thought I'd share a really cute video with you! GO DUCKS!

Urgent Care & Minor Injury in the Same Week!

Greetings!
Yes, the title says it all!
We have been to Urgent Care for Logann and Minor Injury with Peyton within a time frame of 5 days! Oh the joys of raising babies! Let's start with Logann...

At the family reunion (farm in Lebanon) on Saturday night, she ran straight in to the teeter-totter (sp?) We took her in the next day to have it looked at and it was too late to stitch up, but they cleaned it out and put new strips on it. FYI...new parents out there, if the injury is on the face and you are unsure of the need for stitches, TAKE THEM IN ANYWAYS...because they can't do stitches 12 hours after the incident happened. Oh well...the only result is that there might be a bigger scar. That doesn't really matter because her coffee table scar is on the same eyebrow! So much for modeling!

Now on to Peyton! She fell off the top bunk bed last night. Brent was playing with the girls in Logann's room and had Peyton on the top bunk playing with her. (no blame placed here because I have had Peyton on the top bunk too) Well...she fell off, cleared the double size bunk on the bottom and landed right on a huge, overstuffed puppy pillow that Logann had on the floor. I know...pretty darn amazing that she didn't hit the bottom bed's frame. Well, she seemed fine last night, until I woke her up this morning and got her out of her crib. She could hardly walk, and when she did take steps, she was clearly limping. She cried because of the pain, so I called advice and we took her to minor injury this morning at 10am. The doctor checked for range of motion in her hips and legs and said she was fine. If she seems to get worse over the next three days, he said to bring her in for an x-ray. He didn't want to do an x-ray today just because he thought she was fine, and all that radiation through such a little body at this age is not good unless it is absolutely necessary. So...we'll be keeping an eye on her!

Logann has a bike!

We bought Logann a big girl bike a week or so ago and she loves it! She rides it everyday. In the video, you can see that she likes to wear her "guggles" while riding. She's a goof ball! It's pretty funny...before Logann had the big girl bike, Peyton showed no interest at all in riding the trike. Now, that's all she wants to do...ride the trike or the scuttlebug scooter, and follow her big sis' all around the basketball court! Anyways, they are pretty cute together riding their bikes in the backyard!

Lake Goodwin with the Flemings!

This weekend we went up to Lake Goodwin to spend the weekend with our good friends, the Flemings. Erin's parents have a house up on the lake near Marysville, WA. The girls had a blast! Logann rode the jet-ski with Erin and her brother Matt. She also went out on the tubes behind the boat. Peyton also rode on the jet-ski with Erin! This was the girl's first boat ride too! Brent and I had a great time tubing while Erin and Rob wake boarded. We had a camp fire, roasted marshmallows for smores, went to the park, played games in the evening, and ate TONS of wonderful food! We got to meet Erin's brothers Andrew and Matt. Logann became rather attached to Matt...he is a cutie! It was a great weekend and we had a wonderful time with a wonderful family!

Logann's First Sleep-Over!

Logann had her first sleep over last week! She invited Brady over to stay the night! They were way too cute! And, yes, Brady did make it through the night! He never once cried or asked to go back to his house. We had dinner together, took them to the park on a bike ride, they played in the back yard, watched a movie, then went to bed! They played around and talked for quite a while in Logann's room, then we finally decided to separate them around 10pm! Logann slept in our room while Brady stayed in Logann's bed. Overall, it was a very successful first sleep over!

The Kempf's Down on the Farm!

Hello everyone! We had an exciting 4th of July weekend! Our friends Erik and Nicola, and their kids Brady, Mason, and Delaney drove all the way from Vancouver to spend the day with us at the farm! The kids had such a great time! They saw the pigs and sheep, rode the quad out to feed Curious George (a grouse out in the woods) and played in the dirt! Nicola said that the boys have never been so dirty!

Hoopfest Weekend!

We had a wonderful time in Spokane this last weekend. Unfortunately, I didn't get that many pictures...we were too busy having fun by Jon and Karen's pool! Brent played in the 3 on 3 basketball tournament (Hoopfest) on Matt's team. They didn't do so well, so they had Sunday off. They lost, won, then lost and were out. That was fine by me because it was very hot downtown Spokane. My friend JoEne played on her dad's team again, and they won their bracket! I heard the news on TV one evening and they said that it was 118 down on the blacktop where the teams were playing. Laying beside the pool was a much better option! I didn't take the girls down to watch, it was just too hot. Jon and Karen hosted an awesome bbq on Sunday evening after the tournament to celebrate. We had great times with the Liezens, the Heimbigners, and lots of friends that we have in the Spokane area. Sorry I don't have more pictures...maybe JoEne got a few more than I did and will share them with me :) Have a wonderful 4th of July weekend...I will post next week with this coming weekend's events!
